Hartford HealthCare network and is the systemrsquos second largest hospitalPosition DescriptionWe are seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist SLP for our Acute Care team at St Vincents Medical Center in Bridgeport CT Weekend availability holiday per year requiredThe Speech Language Pathologist independently evaluates determines treatment strategies and provides direct or indirect services that identify restore and rehabilitate disorders of communication cognition and swallowing to maximize a patientrsquos safety and independence Reports to Department ManagerDirectorResponsibilitiesThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP performs evaluations of oral motor strengthagility motor speech voice deglutition auditory comprehension reading comprehension verbal expression written expression memory problem solving and attention when referred by a physicianThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP establishes measurable short and long term goals with the patient and family based on appropriate patient care protocols in order to meet patient needsThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP plans implements delivers and delegates patient care by utilizing appropriate interventions and age specific interventions and treatments through selected activities and exercises revising treatment when needed instructing patientfamily through verbal written and audiovisual materials as appropriateThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP participates in discharge planning including recommendations to community resources to meet patient needs throughout the continuum of careThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP models quality patientcustomer service by demonstrating a willingness to serve all customers at all times maintaining an awareness of patientcustomer needs and responding to those needs maintaining confidentiality of all patient information and functioning in a collaborative manner with other care givers to ensure quality patient careThe Speech Language Pathologist SLP educates
