has a passion for patient care and strong proficiency in neuro rehab adult medical communication voice and swallowing disorders Ability to perform Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of swallowing andor interest in developing a transgender speech therapy program is valued This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a dynamic team atmosphere with experienced rehabilitative procedures on an outpatient basis The SLP will have access to state of the art programs such as respiratory muscle strength training SPEAK OUT for Parkinsonrsquos Disease instrumental swallowing assessments exercise based strengthening tools and voice analysis systems Training and mentoring to advance clinical skills is availableResponsibilitiesmiddot Upon Physician referral performs thorough evaluation of patientrsquos oral motor strengthagility motor speech voice deglutition auditory comprehension reading comprehension verbal expression written expression memory problem solving and attention Evaluates the existence nature and severity of speech language andor hearing disordersmiddot Establish measurable goals with the patientfamily based on appropriate patient care protocols and critical paths in order to meet patient needsmiddot Implement deliver and delegate patient care by utilizing appropriate interventions and age specific interventions and treatments through selected activities and exercisesmiddot Provides patient and caregiver education regarding treatment precautions and equipment usemiddot Participates in patient transition planning andor patient discharge planning including recommendations to community resources to meet patient needs throughout the continuum of care Help to coordinate patient care with other care providers such as
