Job Overview:

Focused on supporting and improving a child s ability to participate as successfully and fully in their school environment utilizing occupation therapy methods and methodologies. This position is based in a Union County School District.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduation from an accredited Speech Language Pathology programNJ Speech Language Pathology LicenseSchool Certification in NJCompletion of the national examination if beginning Clinical Fellowship Year affiliation

Preferred:

Pediatric affiliation

NJ Speech Language Pathology LicenseSchool Certification in NJ

Scheduling Requirements:

10-month salary with opportunity for additional summer work37.5 hours/weekFull Time

Essential Functions:

Available during the regular school hours at assigned site and for required meetings within the parameters of the scheduled work dayIs adept in utilizing the educational model of service vs. the medical model of service in regards to the development and maintenance of a student s therapy programDemonstrates good and timely communication skills to receive or convey essential and important information (i.e., reports and evaluations), to pertinent educational staff, CSH School Services staff, parents, student and other necessary entitiesWill participate in IEP and other school meetings when appropriate. Such meetings could be in- person, by phone or by virtual meeting platformDisplays good collaborative skills which are crucial in formulating a specialized transdisciplinary plan for a student in their educational programProvides necessary instruction, training, supervision and monitoring of school personnel in the use of a prescribed therapeutic plan, technique, or modalityCarries out assessment, reassessment and evaluation procedures for referred students, meeting district and CSH School Services requirements and timelinesPlans, develops and implements therapeutic interventions that are goal oriented and educationally relevantCompletes all necessary documentation, databases, schedules and billing logs in accordance with CSH School Services department policy and assigned district/school s policyMaintains and is accountable for therapy inventory and equipmentCompletes all assigned mandatory education requirements within stated timeframesMay, in conjunction with Fieldwork Coordinator, supervise clinical fieldwork students according to stated student program objectivesSupports efforts to accomplish the goals of Children s Specialized Hospital s School Services, representative of our organization not as an independent contractor adhering to the noncompete policies of the organization
