CVP is seeking three (3) Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists to provide comprehensive hearing healthcare services at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS). These are full-time positions working Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

 

Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and plan care for communication and swallowing problemsConduct comprehensive hearing tests and balance assessmentsDiagnose and treat hearing and balance disordersDevelop and implement personalized treatment plansPrescribe and fit hearing aids and other assistive devicesProvide oversight for onsite audiology health technicianSign and complete all required progress notesProvide counseling and education to patients and families about hearing wellnessAssess the impact of hearing loss on communication and quality of lifeParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetingsMaintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records Qualifications Graduate or higher-level graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA)Minimum of 18 semester hours in the field of specialization with approved clinical practiceFull, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech Language Pathology and/or Audiology in any US state or territoryUS citizenship requiredAbility to obtain and maintain VA credentials including PIV card

Additional Requirements for Dual Specialty:

For positions requiring both speech pathologist and audiologist duties: completion of a minor in the secondary field OR at least 1 year of professional experience in the secondary field

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in VA or military healthcare settingsExperience with VA electronic health records systemsDemonstrated experience in providing patient education and counseling
