Reporting to the Department Chair and the Clinical Director, the Clinical Supervisor has responsibility for supervision of graduate student clinicians and assisting in administration of the Touro University Speech and Hearing Center. This position will be located at the Brooklyn campus four days per week.

Responsibilities

Duties including but not limited to the following:

Direct and indirect supervision of graduate speech-language pathology students in clinical practicumRegular review of client session plans and all clinical documentationDirect observation of client sessionsAssists with sessions/evaluations as per student and/or client needReviews and corrects reports associated with client contact (progress reports, evaluation reports, etc. to meet students’ professional writing requirementsProvide speech/language assessment and therapy services to clients in the Speech and Hearing Center as a model for studentsComply with the ASHA standards of supervision for in-person and teletherapy/remote sessionsAdhere to ASHA and NYS ethical standards for clinical practiceAssist students to provide clinical services in a culturally competent manner, using client-centered and family-centered approachesCounsel students regarding therapeutic and/or evaluation techniques for upcoming sessionsInteract frequently with students to provide direction, guidance, and feedbackMonitor student performance and progress via formative and summative evaluationsMaintains standards of HIPAA and Infection Control Qualifications

Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and TrainingThe qualified candidate must have a master’s degree or higher, along with appropriate state license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)Minimum 3 years’ experience post-CF2 hours continuing education in supervision (per ASHA requirement)
