·        Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis, very flexible with the hours/schedule based on availability

Here’s What You Need

Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or
Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or

·        SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required

·        SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Strongly Preferred And

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Problem-solving ability.

·        Ability to teach others; Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

 

What You Will Do

·        Texas Health Speech Language Pathologists are responsible for modified barium swallowing studies and inpatient bedside swallowing tests.

·        Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care

·        Performing treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.

·        Utilizing a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary determining patient response to treatment and evaluates progress.

Educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan. Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines. (Use EPIC/Care Connect charting)
