Evaluates and treats patients of all ages who suffered cognitive, language disorders, swallowing problems, and oral motor disorders due to trauma, illnesses or surgery. This position creates a treatment plan based on the assessment findings and, works with the patient and family members to achieve the highest possible level of independence.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

Designs and executes a treatment plan based on assessment findings.Documents assessments and interventions accurately and timely.Educates patients and families.Evaluates patients cognitive, communication, swallowing skills.Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings and case reviews.Supervises students as needed. Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication skills.Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.Demonstrates flexibility to meet unanticipated demands and priorities.Knowledgable in the principles of growth and development over life span.Possess skills to work with patients of all ages from infant to geriatric.Ability to work safely at all times adhering to the safety policies and procedures, as well as the National Patient Safety Goals.Ability to perform all duties in a courteous and kind manner by placing the patients and families first.Ability to assist other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.


EDUCATION

Masters Speech Pathology Required1 Healthcare/Medical - Speech-Language Pathologist PreferredCertified Cardiac Pulmonary ResuscitationLicensed Speech Pathology
