Speech Therapist - Pediatric Rehab Services

Position Summary:   Responsible for providing a full range of therapeutic services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualification, professional practices and ethical standards.  The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for the contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.  The employee may have job functions where they will handle and deliver medications based on the requirements of their job in the assigned work facility.  The employee will complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience:  Must be a graduate of an accredited therapy program and performed the required clinical internships satisfactorily

Licensure:  Licensed by the state of South Carolina Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Examiners.

Special Skills:  Ability to utilize therapy equipment an outpatient rehabilitation setting to provide treatment and procedures preferred.

Other:  American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the GHS Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis).  BLS Recertification is required every two years. ACLS preferred.

Physical Requirements: Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
