Overview Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed. The speech therapist's scope of practice includes assessment and training in the following areas: aphasia, aprizia, dysarthria, cognitive impairment, voice disorders including laryngectomy, tracheostomy, ventilator dependent patients, and dysphasia. Responsibilities Excels in professional growth and development. Willingness to work in multiple locations and adjust work schedule to meet department mission. Maintains awareness of hospital and/ or Department changes. (I.e. policy and procedure, equipment changes, etc.) Ability to correctly identify problems and develop a treatment plan at conclusion of the initial evaluation. Emphasizes and achieves continuity of care through effective documentation and verbal communication. Adequate computer skills to achieve accurate billing and documentation. Professional demeanor and appearance. Federal/ state/ hospital regulatory compliance Ability to respond to Specific Task Requests. Demonstrates Clinical Competence. Qualifications Ability to assist in transfers.
