Overview Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed. The speech therapist's scope of practice includes assessment and training in the following areas: aphasia, aprizia, dysarthria, cognitive impairment, voice disorders including laryngectomy, tracheostomy, ventilator dependent patients, and dysphasia. (I.e. policy and procedure, equipment changes, etc.) Ability to correctly identify problems and develop a treatment plan at conclusion of the initial evaluation.
