The client provides operations and solutions support for various ITS services like Server infrastructure (Windows, *Nix , VMware) , Systems Security Compliance , Backup , Storage and handles Data Center infrastructure in HQ and over 140 CO locations across the globe. To ensure that the client's Global Infrastructure is supported in a cost effective, efficient and effective manner the unit is embarking on creating an operational intelligence unit to effectively capture, store, correlate, and analyze machine-generated data for gaining new operational visibility and discovering insights for IT and the business. Analyze real-time data feeds of infrastructure and operational activity, Track processes across systems / services to resolve problems and help correlate events from myriad data sources.
Essential Job Functions:
The individual in this role will:Have in-depth knowledge of Splunk Enterprise Architecture and AdministrationArchitect and build a data platform over Big Data (Using Splunk )Work with Splunk Enterprise Admins in all phases of getting data into Splunk ( from Pre-indexing to post indexing statistical data analysis )Plan Deployment Strategies (System Architecture, workflow, failover scenarios, testing modules)Collaborate with multiple tools, appliances, application teams with Splunk nodes for providing platform support for applications in an agile environment.Business Intelligence Model& IT OperationsROI for every tool monitored by SplunkProduction Farm Operational IntelligenceSystems and Event Management (Using various logs )External Python Scripting to modify the complex searches with enhanced costumed outcomes.Perform Infrastructure Monitoring & Automation to gain system insights through predictive analysisAssist in Data Governance & Management of dataWork with various teams to identify and capture relevant logs, assist the infrastructure team with onboarding data, and developing use-cases around the collected dataThe Splunk Specialist will have the ability to communicate within all levels of staff and provide documentation.Aid in system tuning and reviewAdvise on new system upgrades and implementationsInterface with Project Leads and Developers to design and create new models and assist on deliveries.Educational Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science Engineering , IT , MathMinimum 3 years advanced experience in Big Data Analysis using Splunk.Preferred Certification Requirements:Splunk Administration Certification and Power UserRequired Skills/Abilities:Expert in Splunk search language and be able to create and optimize complex big data correlations.Expert in Splunk and Splunk Enterprise architecture in order to design, implement, and troubleshoot deployment, maintenance, and upgrade solutions for deployments of Enterprise Management.Experience in knowledge object creation and usage across the Enterprise, Normalization of event data, and Management of knowledge objects, data models and developing macros.Experience with Python or other scripting language ( Perl , Shell )Excellent workload modeling skillsAbility to build Business & operational Intelligence SystemExperience Administering Splunk Infra structure.Desired Skills/Abilities:Excellent Verbal and Written communicationsSolid understanding of how multi-tier environments function, (specifically how they communicate)Excellent understanding of (relevant) communication protocolsGood understanding of Operating Systems, Networks, hardware and related issues.Ability to report results graphically and verballySolid ability to analyze results and find bottlenecksSolid ability to create "ad-hoc " tests to exploit areas of suspect performance Must be self-motivated and be able to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
