Sponsored Projects Administrator (Pre-Award)

The Sponsored Projects Administrator will provide high quality pre-award support for sponsored research to assigned departments in the Dietrich School. Responsibilities include budget development, coordination and preparation of non-technical proposal documents both internally and with external collaborators, entry and upload of proposal information into external sponsor systems and portals, preparation and submission of final proposal documents in PERIS, and logging information on submitted proposals into an internal database. The majority of proposals are submitted to federal sponsors, and a deep understanding of federal policies such as Uniform Guidance, the NIH Grants Policy Statement, and the NSF PAPPG are essential for this position. Proposals may involve human subjects, vertebrate animals, biohazardous materials, international collaboration, and other factors requiring special approvals, and as such a strong familiarity with university offices relating to research administration is equally important. The ability to prioritize effectively, work on multiple tasks at once, and maintain composure in high-stress situations are all crucial to succeed in this position.
