Sportico: Social Media Designer & Producer

Sportico is seeking a Social Media Designer & Producer to create powerful, high-performing content that drives engagement across platforms. This role requires a blend of graphic design, video editing, and social media strategy to elevate Sportico’s digital presence. The ideal candidate will identify social-first content opportunities, produce visually compelling assets, and support content publishing and partnerships.

Responsibilities: 

Manage the execution of all social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, plus emerging platforms) Lead new strategies to grow social media following for Sportico both within the industry and to the broader community of sports fans Collaborate closely with Sportico editorial, sales and marketing teams Write, edit, and schedule the posting of content adhering to the highest journalistic standards Monitor daily (if not hourly) the performance of all social posts Guide staff members on social-media best practices to increase their individual social presence Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate social media campaigns with broader marketing strategies and campaigns. Stay informed on industry trends, algorithm changes, and new social media tools to optimize our strategies and stay ahead of the competition. Work closely with content creators, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive brand messaging and visual consistency.

Requirements: 

Content Creation: Design high-quality social graphics (75%) and short-form video content (25%) tailored for engagement across platforms beginning with LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. Content Ideation: Identify trending topics and develop social-first content opportunities that resonate with sports business audiences. Publishing & Distribution: Assist in scheduling, posting, and optimizing content across social channels to maximize reach and impact. Brand Consistency: Ensure all creative aligns with Sportico’s brand identity and editorial voice. Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, marketing, and partnership teams to support major content initiatives. Performance Analysis: Monitor content engagement and refine creative strategies based on analytics. Partnerships Support: Assist in executing partnership-driven social activations and branded content campaigns.

Strongly Desired: 

4+ years of experience in graphic design, social media content creation, and digital publishing. Passion for sports, sports business, and the sports content ecosystem, with a keen understanding of trends in the industry. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) or equivalent design and video editing tools. Proven ability to create high-performing social media content, including static graphics and short-form videos. Strong sense of aesthetics and storytelling, particularly within the sports and business context. Creative problem-solver who can identify and capitalize on viral, social-first content opportunities. Experience managing content calendars and publishing workflows across multiple platforms. Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret analytics and refine creative strategies based on performance insights. Experience working with branded content and partnerships to drive audience engagement and align with strategic goals. Flexibility to work outside standard hours to capitalize on major sports moments and industry trends.

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Typical wage range: $71k - $81k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
