POSITION OVERVIEW: Sports Instructor to plan, coordinate, and execute recreational activities for various groups. The Sports Instructor will work in collaboration with School staff, After School staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to organize Athletic structured activities and program. Coordinate events, Lesson Planning, classes, and other activities that engage students in healthy and fun activities. Additional responsibilities of the Athletic Instructor are to provide guidance and instruction to elementary or Middle school participants within the scope of athletics with a wide array sports centric, recreational activities. Organize and teach skills on the rules of the sport in focus and how to get participants to collaborate and work as a team. Partime, Pays: $19.00 per hour
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinate all athletic based instruction of recreational and special activities in the area of Sports facilitation. Facilitate the skill development (Lesson Plans) through planned and assigned activities. Develop training modalities for participants in the sports program. Provide guidance and instruction to enhance participant's team building and athletic skills. Evaluate participants during the course of the program to ensure a maximum outcome of all programs' activities is accomplished. Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities. Maintain standards of behavior set by the program, by the non-punitive disciplinary methods and positive reinforcement. Be responsible for maintaining records (Attendance, Parental) on each student who is being instructed. Establish and maintain rapport with the assigned student(s). Serve as a role model for students being served. Work Collaboratively with Pee staff Participate in all Program Trainings and Instruction REQUIREMENTS: Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.Bachelor's degree in recreation, parks, or a related field preferred. High School diploma Required.2+ years of experience in recreation, sports coordination, event planning, or a related field.Experience working with diverse age groups.Project management skills including organizing, and coordinating activities and events.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Leadership skills to manage volunteers and support staff.Knowledge of safety standards and emergency procedures related to recreation activities.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Excellent oral and written communication skills.CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Dept. of Health, Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance. Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance and fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.
