Job Description

We are looking for a versatile, energetic, dedicated and knowledgeable Sports Anchor, especially in the field of international soccer, with excellent writing and reporting skills to present sports content on-air for the network’s sports news broadcasts, segments and special programs. In addition, the candidate must have the ability and will be expected to perform the function of analyst for live soccer and NBA events as needed. As an analyst the candidate will be expected to provide editorial opinion and criticism in a professional and insightful manner. The Sports Anchor/analyst will be responsible for staying knowledgeable and current regarding sports news, events and athletes in all sports and sports-related content, but with emphasis on international soccer.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Primary responsibility is to provide analysis for live events, and news and information on network sports shows in an engaging, creative, and dynamic manner.Prepare on-air sports news presentations for the network’s Spanish language shows.Provide input to the show’s Producer regarding show content.Write sports stories, teases, and sports news briefs.Present sports content on-air for the network’s sports news broadcasts, segments, and special programs.Perform the function of an analyst for live soccer and NBA events as needed, providing editorial opinion and criticism in a professional and insightful manner.Stay knowledgeable and current regarding sports news, events, and athletes in all sports and sports-related content, with an emphasis on international soccer.

Desired Characteristics:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field.Proficiency in Spanish, both verbal and written.Strong command of the English language.A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in television as a Sports Anchor or Soccer Analyst.Proficient in computer skills and digital research.In-depth knowledge of soccer and a solid understanding of other sports, with the ability to demonstrate sound sports news judgment.Expertise in social media with proven engagement across various digital content platforms.Ability to ad-lib seamlessly on-air in diverse broadcast situations, especially during breaking news.Capability to develop compelling, engaging, and valuable stories for our audience.Exceptional interviewing skills.Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines, including flexible hours and schedules, weekends, and special network events.Strong teamwork skills, both in the newsroom and in the field.Willingness to travel and work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Additional Requirements:

This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.Must be willing to live and work in Miami, FL, or Stamford, CT or where designated to perform the functions of the job.Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
