As a Senior Procedural Training Specialist, you will be responsible for collaborating, designing, and executing the procedural skills training sessions in conjunction to with assigned franchise or geographic area’s Medical Education courses to support the safe & effective use of S+N technologies.

What will you be doing?

The Senior Procedural Training Specialist at Smith + Nephew (S+N) is a key, collaborative position requiring expertise in procedural training and project leadership. You will lead large-scale projects and work closely with franchise and function leaders, driving the development of regional fellowship programs and procedural skills training events, both for S+N and in partnership with society organizations. This role emphasizes the use of advanced learning technologies to create engaging, innovative programs.

We are looking for a motivated leader who is ready to tackle challenges and improve outcomes. You will manage multiple projects on your own, applying your expertise to boost efficiency. This role also involves supporting the Professional Relations and Fellowship team with HCP contracts, honoraria, grants, and donations.

What will you need to be successful?

As the Procedural Skills Training Leader, you will collaborate with franchise partners to deliver exceptional procedural skills training, manage cadaveric labs, and coordinate surgeon education programs. You will build and maintain relationships with HCPs, drive process improvements, and work cross-functionally to improve performance. Applying tools like cadaveric models and simulations, you will support internal training on orthopaedic techniques and work closely with sales, R&D, and marketing teams for product training. Additionally, you will evaluate the effectiveness of S+N faculty and lead large-scale events.

You will also partner with the Fellowship and Societies team to implement the annual education strategy, support regional fellowship programs, and manage fellow transitions. You will handle third-party grant requests, ensuring all medical education activities follow Smith+Nephew’s policies, and collaborate with Professional Relations on HCP contracts, honoraria, and grants, providing input on education grants.

Required:Bachelor’s degree (Postgraduate degree preferred)5+ years of relevant work experienceClinical background in orthopaedicsPreferred Qualifications:MBA5+ years in medical device or medical educationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExperience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience leading large-scale or multiple projectsAbility to effectively communicate surgical methods to medical professionalsStrong understanding of the sales cycle and sales team operations

Travel Requirements: within designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights a month. Infrequent national travel for events and conferences

All field sales professionals that are required to gain entry into healthcare facilities to perform the basic remit of their role, must successfully complete our credentialing process, which often includes COVID 19 vaccine management.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $86-115,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

In addition to base pay, the candidate is eligible for sales commission, incentives and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
