Job Summary
The Sports Medicine Intern will assist in the day-to-day operations of Sports Medicine clinic. This position's responsibilities may include physician and chiropractic clinic check-in and facilitation, mail pick-up, laundry, cleaning of equipment, inventory, monitoring of the recovery room, and other duties as assigned.  This position will not have any patient care responsibilities.
What you will do
· Observe certified professionals in evaluating and treating sports-related injuries. Shadow athletic trainers and medical staff during practices, games, and therapy sessions.
· Clean and organize equipment, report any equipment malfunctions, and overall maintain treatment and gym areas. Set up for any athletic events and ensure all items needed are available.
· Facilitate physician clinic check-in and chiropractic clinic in the Sports Medicine Facility for the student-athletes who have appointments.
· Learn and observe basic principles of injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation techniques under supervision. Practice basic taping, bracing, and first-aid techniques with guidance.
· Ensure adherence to privacy, OSHA, and healthcare regulations at the Federal, State, university, conference, and NCAA levels.
· Gain exposure to administrative side of a Sports Medicine clinic by completing clinic paperwork via processing mail, emails, and other communications appropriately, assisting with relevant Sports Medicine projects, and following up with the relevant personnel.
