KRON4 News in San Francisco is looking for an experienced broadcast Sports Producer. The Sports Producer creates daily sports segments for newscasts and produces sports special programming, including KRON4’s Sports Night Live, Event Pre and Post Game Coverage. The sports producer also produces and creates digital content for kron4.com and our streaming platform KRON4+.

 

Candidates should have experience in script writing, video editing, creating graphics and working collaboratively with reporters and producers.

 

This will be a full time, non-union, non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce daily sports segments, interviews and long form shows for broadcast and digital platformsWrite stories, teases, pre-shows, cold opensView and approve video clipsEdit video for stories and teases using desktop editing systemCreate graphicsCommunicate with reporters, assignment editors, directors, managers directly about sports contentCommunicate clearly with control room staff and anchorsCreate and maintain contacts with professional sports teamAssist in credentialing and planningWork schedule requires weekend shiftsManagement reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

3 – 5 years’ experience producing compelling sports segments in a medium to major marketDemonstrated ability to use graphic technologies, digital editing systems, and to work with reporters and assignment editors on story developmentCollege degree or equivalent in journalism/communications or broadcasting preferredMust be a self-starter, hard worker, have a great attitude, and be versatile and efficient

Compensation:  $31.25+/hr. to commensurate with experience and skill level
