SPR NA Field Technology Lead

At Syngenta, we believe every employee has a role to play in safely feeding the world and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, the production and supply team is currently seeking a SPR NA Field Technology Lead located in Waterloo, NE.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all personnel management, processes, and responsibilities are managed as a top priority, balancing the team’s priorities and resources. Develop and manage a portfolio of Field Technology and Agronomy Management projects Collaborate with other internal teams (SPR Parent Characterization, Parent Seeds, Production, Planning) to execute projects and develop production best practices to support the SPP Develop and communicate production recommendations to the production teams. Track implementation and accuracy and perform Root Cause Analysis.  Maintain awareness of competitive developments and key technologies in seed production and adjacent industries, along with external technology institutions to ensure that innovations are identified, evaluated, and implemented Promote field technology and agronomy knowledge sharing across regions/sites/crops 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field  Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, experience in Seed Production and managing people Influence, develop, coach, and teach. Thorough understanding of experimental design and statistical analysis. Process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma). Cross functional project management, seed production practices across a range of crops (corn and soybean desired) 

Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges:

Must be able to manage and motivate a technical team of Technicians, Agronomist, Associate and Scientist, providing clear direction and leadership. Must be able to work with other functions, including but not limited to Planning, Parent Seeds, Production, SPR’s Parent Characterization and Global SPR. Evaluate, propose and adopt change that positively impact the company’s bottom-line by reducing cost and increasing reliability in P&S.
