Position Overview/Department Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Co-Op to join the Cell Culture Platform (CCP) team within Cell Culture Development (CCD).  CCP is globally responsible for providing solutions to process challenges through the development and application of platform cell culture media and innovative upstream process technologies throughout CCD. We are a dynamic team charged with identifying process pain points and resolving the underlying problems, generating compelling data from relevant proof of concept studies, and designing novel process platforms in collaboration with Upstream Development colleagues.

Our Co-Op program offers the opportunity to learn cutting-edge cell culture industry techniques and develop cell culture subject matter expertise in an FDA-regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work with his/her supervisor to design, plan and conduct cell culture experiments at different scales, such as shake flasks, ambr15, ambr250, and 3L/10L bench-top bioreactors.

The candidate will also be able to prepare cell culture samples for LC-MS analysis using automated liquid handling technology and process the results using a data automation platform.

This candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to protocol and report writing, and present on findings in respective functional areas.

This candidate will be exposed in cell culture development platforms, and potentially involved in multiple cell culture projects, such as fed-batch process development, perfusion process development, media development, and high-throughput automation development.

About you

Basic Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a chemistry or engineering (biology, chemical, biopharmaceutical or biochemical related field) Master’s or PhD. degree program.

3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent is a minimum requirement.

Must be enrolled in school the semester following your co-op with Sanofi.  

Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hrs./week for the full duration of the Co-op

Must have permanent US work authorization 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture.

Experience with automated liquid handlers (Tecan, Hamilton)

Experience with bioprocess analytical techniques

Experience with lab assays, high-throughput automation, and statistical analysis.

Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office writing and graphing.

Ability to function independently and within a team environment.
