*The Impact You Can Make * *Team Impact* The Sous Chef (Supervisor, Food Production) supervises and participates in the daily activities of hot and cold production of patient, retail, special function and catering food items and the procurement of all food and non-food supplies, ensuring that an adequate inventory is on-hand** * * *The Glens Falls Hospital Impact* *Mission* Our Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting. * * *How You Will Fulfill Your Potential* *Responsibilities* * **Supervises/participates in the activities for purchasing all food, non-food supplies and related services to assure timely delivery and quality service to all end users. * Develops and manages requests for proposals with GFH Supply Chain sourcing as necessary. * In the absence of the Chef (Manager), will act as a liaison between the approved GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) and the specified prime vendor to maximize cost savings and efficiencies for all contractual agreements. * Ensures that automated inventory parameters are kept up to date. * Is responsible for the development and preparation of various financial reports *Education/Accredited Programs * * High School Diploma, or equivalent, required * AOS or AAS in foodservice or similar field preferred * ServSafe Certification (Completed within the first 6 months of job) * Preferably 1 year or more experience in institutional cooking or in supervisory role *Licenses/Certifications/Registrations* * **ServSafe Certification – required within 6 months of hire *Skills/Abilities* * Ability to read, analyze and interpret policy and procedure regulations * Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues * Ability to deal with Human Resource issues in a fair, consistent manner * Familiar with computerized food production applications * Ability to train, assess and retrain staff as needed. * Ability to effectively supervise and multitask * Ability to utilize software application programs to support electronic ordering and report development (DFM, FSDO, Microsoft Word/Excel) * * *Communities We Serve* Located in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George.
