We are seeking a dynamic SQF Practitioner to join our Quality team in a fast-paced, food & beverage manufacturing facility.
... The Food Safety & Quality Practitioner reports to the Quality Manager and is primarily responsible for overseeing the plant's Food Safety Programs, including Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF). This role ensures conformance to quality standards, food safety protocols, and safety programs while developing continuous improvement initiatives across all departments.

This role will work 7a -3:30pm Monday - Friday

The advertised salary for this role is tentative and subject to change****

Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, review, manage, and maintain the plant's Food Safety Programs
Validate and verify SQF requirements, including pre-requisite programs, critical control points, packaging safety limits, and monitoring activities
Schedule and lead internal audits for Food Packaging Safety
Ensure required team members receive proper SQF training
Support Engineering and Production departments with protocols for tool/material qualification
Perform and coordinate equipment validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ)
Maintain calibration for Quality Department measuring equipment
Develop quality procedures for laboratory equipment, inspections, and audits
Manage product, customer, food safety, and quality management system audits
Lead safety initiatives and risk assessment activities
Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Set department goals and provide coaching to team members

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Skills:
SQF Practitioner certification
Experience with JDE specifications and drawings
Background in equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ protocols)
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Continuous improvement methodology knowledge (Six Sigma, Lean)
Previous experience in food packaging manufacturing
Project management skills
Training and development experience

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Food Packaging Safety and/or Quality experience in an industrial setting
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
HACCP training with evidence of competency
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead internal audits and safety initiatives
Experience with quality control systems and record-keeping
Knowledge of food safety standards and protocols
