Summary of Job:
We are seeking an experienced Data Conversion Analyst to analyze and verify that SQL Server production data is transformed correctly in a large system conversion project. This involves analyzing data from several source operational systems and determining whether the data is transformed accurately, completely and sensibly into the new system. Candidate must be well-versed in understanding how to devise a validation/test plan based on data quality standards for a data conversion project. He/she should be able to understand data discrepancies and how to fix them using SQL. Candidate needs to know how to read and interpret complicated data models to understand how data is transformed between systems. He/she must be capable of creating reconciliation reports against the source systems and destination system to validate the integrity and accuracy of the transformed data and recommend how to fix problems. Candidate will also consult on data related issues, data cleanup efforts, and contribute to standardization and process improvements.
General Qualifications:
Experience in creating SQL queries to query data from various data sources to support analysis.
Experience with and understanding of Data Warehousing and ETL (SSIS & DTS)
Experience with reporting technologies
Experience in application level problem diagnosis and trouble shooting, resolution and testing.
Experience in MS Access front ends and back ends
Experience working on large scale analysis projects
Demonstrated experience in writing process, analytic and technical flows
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum 6+ years’ experience in SQL Server and development with SQL technologies
Strong SQL competency
Experience in utilizing Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Access)
Experience with Data Quality standards
Strong analytic skills
Identify key assumptions that could impact recommendations and strategies
Identify opportunities for process and data improvements
Develop and run reports to illustrate results of the analysis
Present reports and findings to the internal and/or external customers
Research existing systems and business processes to derive business rules to use as the basis of data analysis
Experience in MS Access design and development with SQL technologies
Superior organizational skills, with a disciplined approach to implementation, support and documentation.
Hands-on approach with ability to deliver to commitments.
Self motivated and highly professional with ability to take on responsibility and work independently.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Excellent client (internal & external) communication and liaison skills.
Fiscal and accounting background a plus.
