Responsibilities:

Install, configure, migrate, upgrade, and maintain databases in both non-production and production environments. Enforce database change management, security standards, and industry best practices. Design and maintain a comprehensive backup and data archiving plan. Propose and test disaster recovery strategies. Oversee the overall design of the database landscape. Proactively monitor database performance, integrity, and security to support a high-throughput production environment. Assist application development teams with database tuning and prepare environments for projects. Ensure new major enhancements align with best practices in database design. Conduct production deployments as needed. Collaborate closely with the development team using tools like ERwin, ER-Studio, and Toad Data Modeler for data modeling while providing 24/7 support and maintaining documentation on data standards and policies.

 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science required. at least 5 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator (DBA). Proficient in MSSQL database administration (SQL 2016 and above) in a production setting. Experience with SQL High Availability and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC). Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and building SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages. Hands-on experience in SQL capacity planning and performance tuning. Proficient in developing PowerShell scripts. Experience with cloud technologies, including SQL Azure and CosmosDB. Knowledge of SQL Server backup and restore strategies is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with additional advantages for development experience and familiarity with other database systems like DB2, MongoDB, Postgres, and Oracle.
