Self-funding can incur risks from catastrophic claims, and Medical Stop Loss insurance from Tokio Marine HCC is designed to protect employers from that risk.This is hybrid role located onsite in Birmingh, ALPosition Summary:Designs, develops, implements, and maintains software solutions using SQL Server. Writes and maintains stored procedures, functions, or queries meant to assist the organization in accessing and analyzing business data. Maintains SSAS cube and creates relational and cube reports. Follows work plans, established timelines, and pre-defined goals for assigned work. Relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines, responsible for accomplishing the following as guided by others.Key Responsibilities:Consult with users to identify current business operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.Design, create, test, and document data models that illustrate relationships between tables and other database objects. Create and document constraints that ensure integrity of data.Design, create, test, and document queries that are efficient with an emphasis on performance. Develop stored procedures, views, and functions. Diagnose and tune poorly performing queries. Implement transactions when appropriate to ensure data integrity.Work with analysts, end users, and other developers to analyze and design solutions that meet business objectives. TMHCC Stop Loss has business analysts and end users who participate in system development. These personnel have varying analytical skills which require SQL developers to collaborate with these individuals and develop solutions that meet business objectives.Design, create, test, and document SSIS packages as needed that do various ETL processes.Design, create, test, and document SSRS reports as needed. Data sources for these reports will be SQL Server Analysis Services cubes or stored procedures.Analyze and update SSAS Cube.Education, Experience & Knowledge4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience2 Years Relevant and progressive professional experiencePreferred MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 or higherPossess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentialityExceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyMinimum 5 years database development in Microsoft SQL 2012 or above.T-SQL performance tuning.Past success creating database objects (tables, stored procedures, etc.) to support various interfaces and processes.Demonstrated experience with database design and analysis.Strong experience with data analysis.Ability to create SQL Server Integration Services packages.Knowledge of SQL transactions and how to utilize transactions when appropriate.Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services.Basic understanding of SQL Database Administration.
