Description We are currently seeking a dedicated SQL Database Developer for a contract role working hybrid in the Chicagoland Metro area. This would be an individual who is proficient in managing and optimizing large complex databases. This challenging role involves a significant amount of hands-on experience, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Responsibilities: + Design, code, and implement highly scalable and reliable database applications. + Develop complex SQL queries, subqueries, and join operations. + Create, manage, and optimize database objects including tables, views, and procedures. + Perform data modeling, database optimization, understanding, and implementing schema. + Implement measures for data security such as access controls and SQL injection prevention. + Regularly perform performance tuning and query optimization for efficient data retrieval. + Coordinate with management and team members to ascertain project needs and goals. + Serve as an escalation point for database issues and queries. Requirements Qualifications: + Located in Chicago, or can commute to Chicago + Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. + 3-5 years of IT database experience. + Strong experience in designing and coding database programs using SQL. + Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, understanding joins, and subqueries. + Sound understanding of managing database objects like tables and views. + Proven experience in data modeling, performance tuning, query optimization. + Expertise in implementing measures to ensure data security. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
