Our client in the financial industry is seeking a SQL Developer to join their team. As a SQL Developer, you will be part of the database team supporting various departments. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with Oracle or Teradata, and proficiency in SQL development, performance tuning, and UNIX scripting.
**Job Title:** SQL Developer
**Location:** Jersey City, NJ OR Charlotte, NC - hybrid schedule
**Role Type:** 1 year contract with possible extensions
**What's the Job?**
+ Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions in Oracle or Teradata to support data analysis and reporting.
+ Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database processes to improve efficiency.
+ Collaborate with database administrators and developers to ensure database integrity, security, and performance.
+ Use UNIX scripting for automation and operational support, and troubleshoot issues in a UNIX environment.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database processes, scripts, and procedures.
**What's Needed?**
+ Proven experience with Oracle or Teradata, with a strong focus on SQL development.
+ Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
+ Strong skills in query optimization and performance tuning techniques for high-volume databases.
+ Proficient in UNIX operating systems, including scripting and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to analyze data requirements and provide efficient database solutions.
