SQL Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CGM Enhancement Lead, work within the CGM Enhancement Team to deliver enhancement solutions, considering the technologies available to IT, Chubb standards and the need to innovate.  Work with the CGM Business Analysts and Stakeholders to write clear Technical Solution Documents to a defined standard that will be fully understood by the business and IT Teams.  To Build, Test and Implement traceable technical solutions through the defined CGM Project Lifecycle. To peer review other Enhancement Team members work as per the CGM Enhancement Team defined process.  To identify areas of opportunity within the CGM Enhancement team for enhancing overall effectiveness and quality, and to propose initiatives to address these.   To ensure clear Knowledge Transfer of solutions moving to BAU with the CGM Support Team.  

Qualifications

Education to degree level and or a Professional IT Qualification preferred.  Strong proficiency with SQL, Reporting Services, SSIS.  In addition, QlikView, asp.net (classic) and HTML would also be an advantage  Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases  Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.  Strong Technical Documentation skills. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as {{Git}} Knowledge of DevOps beneficial.  Familiarity with JIRA not essential but an advantage.  Experience in working within Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
