Sr Accountant

The main purpose of this role is to work with our accounting group to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use. This will include revenue for partnerships, media, and software products, in accordance with applicable accounting standards as well as many other corporate and site accounting processes. This position will provide accounting support during the annual external audit. The person in this role will also assist in researching technical accounting issues and provide guidance to accounting on how to record transactions appropriately. It will interact with corporate and site level associates and managers (our customers) to assist with financial information communication. We are looking for someone who knows their stuff well enough to work with fairly minimal oversight and can work well with teams.

Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and Review customer contracts for proper accounting under ASC 606 and review monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periodsPrepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reportingReview payment application received to open invoice amounts and various checks receivedLead meetings with app developers to gather financial information for mobile games including World Golf TourCoordinate expense recognition for marketing programs including beverage, commercial & social media advertisingProvide accounting support to approximately 6 venues including month end close accruals, analysis, and respond to questionsAnalyze and Review various types of venues and corporate transactions for financial completeness and accuracy. Prepare presentations for management as neededSupport quarterly reviews and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests. Work with the accounting team to implement process and control improvements in accordance with SOX

Critical Skills & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management requiredCPA license required4+ years related professional experience in a financial/accounting function1+ year experience with applying ASC 6061+ year auditing experience at a public accounting firm is a plus1+ year experience working with SEC registrants is a plusAbility to explain accounting concepts to non-accounting employeesIn-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial resultsAn intermediate to advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel is requiredStrong organizational and communication skills essential to successAbility to work with various and multiple software and reporting systemsA desire to participate and willingness to show up for team events and be visible on video callsOrganize, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and projectsCommunicate effectively with management, coworkers and external auditors
