Sr. Accountant

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This position is a blend between the Joint Venture (JV) accounting team and the core accounting team to provide support to both.  The support to the Joint Venture (JV) accounting team will be to ensure accurate communication of financial information to our Field Customers and JV partners, The support to the core accounting team will be with preparation of accounting and control activities relating to leases and fixed assets, including accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reporting and analysis as well as implementation and monitoring of effective controls in accordance with SOX, GAAP, and audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Accounting:

Responsible for general ledger functions such as journal entry preparation, account analysis and reconciliationsReview of Staff Accountant monthly close activitiesPrepare audit schedules and answer audit questionsAssist with annual budget preparationProvide General Accounting Support for teammates responsible for general accounting functions and supportSupport Supervisor in various reviews and SOX controlsCenter accounting review responsibilities for revenue, AR, liabilities, equity, development projects, fixed assets, inventory, medical director fees, leases and subleases.Prepare cash forecasts based on historical financial data and knowledge gained from working with and supporting field finance and operations management.Utilize general business knowledge to assist operational teammates with non-routine accounting issues and concerns.Other duties as assigned

Reporting / Analytics:

Responsible for corporate and field operations financial reportingPrepare, develop and modify recurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for management reportingSolid understanding of accounting with ability to support Supervisor and provide recommendations for training teammatesProvide reporting to identify and interpret trends and explain fluctuations.Interact with other departments to explain and resolve issuesGeneral ledger functions such as account analysis account reconciliation, trend analysis, and financial statement research.Create and review financial statements including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, equity statements, etc.

Process Improvement:

Identify, develop and implement efficient and standardized methods for recurring processes and reportingExecute accounting processes and maintain effective internal controls relating to lease operationsPrepare communications such as memos, presentation charts, and process documentation and coordinate with other departments, business offices and field operations.Identify and investigate data inconsistencies, and system and process opportunities, ensuring the integrity of data in the general ledgerUnderstand business processes and collaborate with teammates throughout the village to provide solutions to improve effectiveness/efficiency of processesAddress inquiries from teammates/customersMake recommendations to accounting and operational management, as well as be responsible for day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions.Develop and implement new accounting processes.

Leadership:

Provide ongoing training, development and coachingParticipate in meetings with Team, Management, Field management and JV partners as necessary.Work with Supervisor and leadership to establish, communicate, and ensure departmental goals and objectives are achievedWork as liaison between General Accounting, Tax, Revenue Evaluation, Payroll, ROPS departments and field operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required. 

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting or Finance required2-4 years related experience and/or trainingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) preferredIntermediate computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to learn new internal systems and tools. Working knowledge of general ledger accounting functionsStrong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively.Demonstrated project management and/or consultative skills when addressing complex inquiries from teammates, customers, and business partners.Ability to make timely and quality decisions.

Salary/ Wage Range

$55,000.00 - $75,500.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
