Sr Accountant Financial Analyst
Job Description: Nonprofit is seeking an experienced and passionate Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst! Well-established mission-driven nonprofit is seeking to add a Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst to the team! This role will work on a small team of 3 and report to the CFO/COO. This position is a central position for the finance/accounting and financial compliance functions in organization. The Sr. Accounting & Finance Lead must have strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with a number of colleagues both internally (Programs Personnel & Enrollment and Development Departments) as well as externally (State, County, and School District Fiscal Analysts). Responsibilities: + Assist the COO with the monthly accounting and closing process. + Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual billing, assist with compliance processes for direct contracts and subcontracts with the State of California, various counties, and school districts. + Assist the CFO/COO in budgeting, forecasting, contractual reporting functions, financial modeling, expense allocation, annual audit and 990 processes. + Assist at the direction of the CFO/COO developing and maintaining a fixed asset register, reconciling various accounts, and performing various contract-related and accounting tasks. + Perform monthly reconciliations of all development fundraising activities & expenses by working directly with the Vice President of Development & CFO. + Assist in various special projects including: + Automations of Credit Card Expense reporting. + Assist with creating and updating the organization’s Accounting procedures and policies. + Assist with creating and updating reporting documents and processing documentation. + Ongoing improvement of organization’s Budget Model & Process. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with and 5+ years related experience in accounting/finance, familiar with nonprofit accounting and fund accounting. + Non-profit experience or, the equivalent combination of education and experience. + Fund EZ Accounting Software preferred but any large Accounting ERP or Fund Accounting software. + Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Table/V-Lookup) required. + State and local grant contract experience is a plus. + Someone with a solutions-first approach and a capacity to come to the table with a diverse set of ideas for how to accomplish the goal. + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and agreements. + Strong written and verbal communication skills that are effective at all levels of the organization. Bilingual a plus. + Child Abuse Managed Reporter Training (online). + Employee Rights (Lic 9052). + Proof of Immunizations for MMR, Tdap & Flu. Work Environment: 100% onsite Monday-Friday in Novato, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
