Topgolf is seeking a super talented and highly motivated individual for our accounting team.
The main purpose of this role is to work with our accounting group to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use. This will mainly include lease accounting and lease administrative duties in accordance with applicable accounting standards. The person in this role will interact with corporate and site level associates and managers (our customers) to assist with financial information communication. The person in this role will also heavily interact with our Landlords. There will also be opportunities to work on special projects as they arise. We are looking for someone who will work with fairly minimal oversight and can work well with teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Assists the Accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial statementsEnsures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesResearches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amountsMaintain the Rent and CAM payments file and work with Landlords to ensure timely and accurate rent payments every monthLease administration of newly executed contracts in lease accounting systemPrepare period financial analysis and reconciliations particularly related to Lease accountingPreparation of monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods. Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in a timely and accurate mannerCollaborate with Fixed Asset team on reporting for lease related assets Assist in control reporting including embedded leasesProvide accounting support to approximately 5 venues including month end close accruals, analysis, and response to questionsDevelops, enhances and implements accounting and finance procedures and documentation of data flowPrepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations each period/quarter as assigned and scheduledAssist with fiscal year-end financial reporting and audit requirementsSupport and assist Sr. Manager and Lead Lease accountant on any special projects and reportsParticipate in system implementation of new or revised systems. Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field2+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilitiesCPA candidate preferredExperience working with SEC registrants is a plusRestaurant or multi-unit retail industry experience preferredIn-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial results Strong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsIntermediate/Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel,Ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleaguesAbility to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business questions and needsExperience using SAP and Business Objects a plusDesire to be part of a fun and rapidly growing conceptADA
