Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to audit both internal and external financial reporting, monthly financial packages, and quarterly financial packages that are submitted to Pilot Travel Centers and Shell Flying J (SFJ) lenders serving as acting controller for SFJ.
In this role you will:
Provide monthly estimates to Pilot Travel Center’s controller to incorporate into monthly estimatesReview and approve SFJ’s budgetsSFJ board meeting document preparation, review of Board of Managers (BOM) materials, and attend board meetingsReview internal and external report such as management reporting like Bluebook, bank financials, monthly reports, and board of director materialsBudget and forecast against five to 15 year plan and manage various models supporting company financials and forecastsServe as SFJ acting controller ensuring appropriate accounting across SFJ companyConduct financial analysis and ad hoc reporting; prepare and review various financial reports across the companyPerform merger and acquisition analysis and support by reviewing contracts, financial statements, projections, and all other relevant documentsAssist annual audit with preparation of quarterly and annual financial documents supporting the company’s external financial statement auditQualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting requiredMinimum 15 years’ experience in accounting control and/or reporting functions requiredIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsStrong knowledge of internal control principlesKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Working knowledge of various financial and reporting systems and database systems including Budgeting, Hyperion, Lawson, Infor, and SQLPossess financial acumenAbility to manage projects and multiple priorities with minimal supervisionExcellent strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skillsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailTeamwork, problem solving, conflict management, influencing, and negotiating skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate financial principles and practices with non-finance team membersGeneral office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of timeLift up to 20 poundsAdditional Information• Nation-wide Medical Plan/Dental/Vision
