Job Details:
The Senior Financial Analyst for Primal Optimization and Costing is a key role responsible for overseeing the Primal Optimization Review (POR) and Product Costing processes for the Fresh Meats Division. This role is integral to driving value creation by synthesizing and analyzing data from multiple business units, such as Operations, Sales, Scheduling, and plant locations, to provide actionable insights that inform pricing and optimization strategies. The Senior Financial Analyst will lead meetings, collaborate with business leaders across the division, and actively contribute to decision-making that drives both cost efficiency and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Facilitate Meetings: Lead Primal Optimization meetings, driving impactful discussions on key trends, outliers, and opportunities to improve mix and profitability. Leverage your expertise to influence business decisions at a senior level and ensure alignment with strategic financial objectives.Collaborate with Cross-Functional Business Leaders: Serve as a business partner, working closely with senior leadership and teams across Operations, Pricing, Sales, and Scheduling. You will drive data-backed decision-making, enhance business performance, and champion technology-led process improvements.Drive Process Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to optimize and automate financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement solutions that streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and leverage technology to improve product costing, pricing strategies, and overall business performance.Drive Data-Driven Insights and Automation: Utilize advanced analytical tools and automation technologies to deliver actionable insights into mix optimization and operational performance.Maintain Product Costing Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in product costing files. Continuously improve costing models by integrating advanced technology and aligning with operational realities and market changes.Technology-Enabled Collaboration: Act as a catalyst for process optimization and cross-functional collaboration, driving the use of advanced systems and data analytics tools across departments (including Pricing, Operations, and Sales).Trend Analysis & Forecasting with Cutting-Edge Technology: Use data forecasting tools and advanced analytics to monitor market trends, predict cost fluctuations, and recommend strategic adjustments to optimize product pricing and costing.Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.MBA or advanced financial certifications (CFA, etc.) are a plus.Experience:
4+ years of financial analysis experience, with demonstrated leadership in driving cross-functional collaboration and implementing technology-driven solutions.Proven track record of influencing business transformation through process improvements, automation, and data-driven financial analysis.Knowledge of pork and beef products or relevant industry experience is highly desirable.Proven ability to influence and drive value creation through data analysis and decision support.Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions. Experience with SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI is a plus and will be considered a strong asset.Familiarity with data visualization and automation tools to streamline reporting and enhance decision-making. Familiarity with Tyson Fresh Meats yield systems is a plus but not required.Experience with database systems and data management.Ability to think strategically and identify innovative solutions to drive process optimization, cost efficiency, and business growth.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data and present insights to business leaders in a clear, compelling way.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results on time.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in product costing and pricing analysis.** Not eligible for sponsorship
