We also have a mature data pipeline that captures many other business critical data signals and makes them available for analytics-driven insights generation and action. The Senior Analyst is an important part of the Strategic Analytics team that analyzes detailed customer data to develop powerful insights that drive the effectiveness of marketing strategies and guide guest personalization efforts. Our team’s mission is to provide Ulta Beauty a distinct competitive advantage by mining our rich data assets to inform strategic and tactical business decisions. In this role, you will utilize data mining and analytical capabilities to support the analysis and reporting needs for our Go to Market areas of Marketing, Digital, and Merchandising departments. The Senior Analyst will also act as a subject matter expert, communicating the value and tackling the application of innovative analytical approaches for various use cases with multiple stakeholders across Ulta Beauty. YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Manipulate and analyze data from Ulta Beauty’s s big data environment, including customer profile info, advertising results, and transaction data using SQL or similar tools Distill analysis results into clear, concise, and business friendly presentations and deliver those presentations to various levels of audiences including C-suite executives Own the development and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards in connection with our key stakeholders across Go to Market areas Build automated and intuitive functional Tableau and/or Power BI dashboards and visualizations that will enable business teams to understand and act on insight derived from Ulta Beauty’s complex datasets Ensure data integrity and enforce data standards to achieve consistent data cleanliness, completeness, and accuracy. Identify, monitor, communicate, escalates, and resolve data quality issues Be a thought-leader and partner for key business teams related to A/B testing and Incrementality studies, to help assess campaigns or partner’s performance Work with internal partners to assess business needs and transform them into meaningful observations by selecting optimal analytic technique(s) depending on the nature of the business problem Develop a strong partnership and collaboration with various internal teams at Ulta Beauty, such as the Marketing, eCommerce, Finance, IT, and Merchandising teams by consulting on how to attain the business goals by leveraging customer and marketing data to highlighting insights Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data exploration and BI tools, and recommend tools and methodologies for the team to explore Coach and mentor junior/less experienced team members as needed THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 5+ years of experience developing business strategies resulting from quantitative customer and marketing analytics/data mining, and presenting those results to a client/business partner Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, etc. from a top-tier university; MBA is a plus Proven command of SQL, relational databases, MS Excel/PowerPoint, Other data querying and analysis languages such as Python, R a plus Hands-on experience handling large amounts of data and effectively visualizing in reporting (BI) tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker etc. Experience working with customer-level data within Ad Tech, Retail, CPG, Travel & Hospitality or related industries Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Capable of working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately, and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations The pay range for this position is $76,100.00 - $114,600.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
