Job Description

The Audit Senior – Wealth Management is responsible for:

1) the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan;

2) assisting with other audit advisory services and special projects;

3) actively participating on audits in all phases of the audit, including planning, execution, and reporting; and

4) at times leading internal audit team members.  The position will focus on the Wealth Management line of business audit portfolio, which includes fiduciary account administration, investment management, and private banking.

Responsibilities:

Perform work under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager, which can include individual or multiple audit assignments and leading auditsDocument audit procedures in a quality manner and in compliance with the IIA Standards and department’s audit methodologyConduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established/required timelineEstablish risk-based audit programsDetermine scope of review in conjunction with the Internal Audit ManagerReview the effectiveness of internal control designConduct audit testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of riskAssess compliance with policies and proceduresVerbally communicate findings to senior management and draft comprehensive and clear issuesReview audit work papers prepared by the audit staff to ensure quality and compliance with the department's audit methodologyLead teams with focus on creating a positive and inclusive work environmentCollaborate directly with clients, identifying and addressing client needs through building solid relationships with clients; understanding the client's business; actively participating in client discussions and meetingsManage day-to-day engagement operations, including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues; demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicate potential conflicts to leadership

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is requiredCPA, CIA, CFIRS, or MBA or progress toward obtaining these certifications are preferred4+ years of relevant experienceExperience working in an Internal Audit department or public accounting firmBanking industry experience and exposure to the Wealth Management function a plusKnowledge of trust and fiduciary business activities preferredStrong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skillsAbility to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentAbility to manage competing priorities and quickly adapt to changeDemonstrated success in assessing and documenting risks and controls and developing an audit scope and procedures in a changing environmentExemplify a positive attitude, strong work ethic, team work and professionalismAbility to travel (5%)

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 for the Boston, MA market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
