Sr Auditor - Wealth Management Portfolio

To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Auditor is responsible for conducting risk-focused audits; advising business units on the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls; and promoting compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards, control policies, and applicable legislation. The role applies advanced concepts to provide expertise in the development and completion of monthly audit reports, quarterly audit reports, and ongoing legal entity reports to key stakeholders. The Senior Auditor works with business units to assess the adequacy of controls and develop realistic solutions to control-identified weaknesses using best practices. Acting as a resource integrator for their area, the role independently resolves complex matters, advising the business of best practices to help mitigate short or medium term risks and exposures. **Responsibilities:** + Perform work under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager, which can include individual or multiple audit assignments and leading audits + Document audit procedures in a quality manner and in compliance with the IIA Standards and department’s audit methodology + Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established/required timeline + Establish risk-based audit programs + Determine scope of review in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager + Review the effectiveness of internal control design + Conduct audit testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk + Assess compliance with policies and procedures + Verbally communicate findings to senior management and draft comprehensive and clear issues + Review audit work papers prepared by the audit staff to ensure quality and compliance with the department's audit methodology + Lead teams with focus on creating a positive and inclusive work environment + Collaborate directly with clients, identifying and addressing client needs through building solid relationships with clients; understanding the client's business; actively participating in client discussions and meetings + Manage day-to-day engagement operations, including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues; demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicate potential conflicts to leadership **Required Skills & Experience** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required + CPA, CIA, CFIRS, or MBA or progress toward obtaining these certifications are preferred + 4+ years of relevant experience + Experience working in an Internal Audit department or public accounting firm + Banking industry experience and exposure to the Wealth Management function a plus + Knowledge of trust and fiduciary business activities preferred + Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills + Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment + Ability to manage competing priorities and quickly adapt to change + Demonstrated success in assessing and documenting risks and controls and developing an audit scope and procedures in a changing environment + Exemplify a positive attitude, strong work ethic, team work and professionalism + Ability to travel (5%) **Who you are** + You understand that success is in the details. This role has an expected salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
