Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Sr Data Engineer will become an integral member of a team focused full-time on driving data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement of the Consumer / Retail solution, a division of Cox Automotive. This role is responsible for providing data and insights for sales to deliver performance-based strategies. This role will serve as an expert in setting up data analytics and supporting teams to develop Business Intelligence solutions to enable sales organization. This role will serve as an expert to influence the growth of the strategic account strategy, optimization, and overall revenue through data-based insight and analyses of activities that occur on Cox Automotive Consumer Solutions platforms and products.
This position interacts with various teams to understand strategic issues and provide information to support business decisions with a customer-focused mindset. You will collaborate and work closely with business users, data engineers, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and solution deliverables that drive business growth and efficiency. You will provide business insights that would be used to inform and drive data-driven decisions by internal stakeholders and external clients.
Report/Dashboard Design and Development
Design and develop intuitive, visually appealing dashboards and reports that meet business needs.
Define and implement best practices in data visualization and stay abreast of industry trends while optimizing reporting solutions and processes.
Play a critical role in data literacy, which performs an ability to explore, understand, and communicate with data meaningfully to various stakeholders across the Sales organization.
Develop and maintain BI solutions based on Microsoft Power BI and Power Platform, such as Automate, to enable data availability and meet stakeholders' requirements.
Data Gathering, Integration and Validation
Collect and integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring quality, completeness, and consistency.
Perform data transformations and modeling to prepare data for reporting and analysis.
Work with internal and external data providers on data validation, providing feedback, and making customized changes to data feeds and mappings.
Metric and Ad-Hoc Solutions
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) or OKRs for reporting and dashboard aligning with organization goals.
Innovate metrics and leverage advanced analytics techniques to provide in-depth analyses.
Support ad-hoc data analysis and customized reporting requests from business stakeholders, delivering timely insights and recommendations.
Perform trend analysis and advanced data analytics techniques to support the initiatives.
Project Management
Understand the organization's day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable data solutions.
Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the team's effectiveness and reduce technical debt.
Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams for projects and task planning and be able to manage projects independently, including timelines, customer interaction, requirements, and others.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement
Document the development process, including data sources, transformations, and visualization techniques.
Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of reporting and dashboarding processes, including adopting new technologies, refining existing methods, and incorporating user feedback to enhance their experiences on reports/dashboards.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field
Strong team building skills with demonstrated problem-solving abilities
Self-directed, driven, and enthusiastic
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired to have Automotive experience and understanding of Dealer and Consumer Metrics and Analytics
Strong analytical mindset - masterful with Excel and experienced in analyzing performance and sales data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
Experience solving business problems using advanced quantitative methods or statistical models (clustering, regression, ANOVA, etc.) preferred.
Must have working experience using Power BI or Tableau
Expertise in writing SQL queries from scratch or altering existing code.
Preferred
Experience with Snowflake is a plus
4+ years of performing analysis and building data processes preferred experience with the Automotive industry highly desired
