Description The Data eNgineering and Analytics (DNA) Wizardry team is excited to have a new wizard join our coven! The DNA team spans across Data Architecture (DA), Data Engineering (DE), Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Science (DS) functional areas, and is responsible for providing data and analytic solutions for the North American Stores (NAS) Organization. This Sr. BIE role will own the data pipelines and final customer interfaces (Turismo, QuickSight) for the NAS Organization. This role will build core metrics and deep dive them to generate insights that directly impact organizational strategic decisions and priorities. The role requires high proficiency in complex SQL and Python scripting, often joining together multiple types of data sets that range from normalized summaries to raw information spanning many diverse sources. The role will need to have a high bar for ownership and work autonomously to create high-quality products for the customer (internal). The role is required to communicate project roadmap, prioritization, and release notes of new products with customer and stakeholder groups up to senior leadership. In addition, this role will influence our team and customers to build scalable and sustainable analytic solutions. They will review product development and provide mentorship on projects. Key job responsibilities -Develop and drive best practices to align with our theme, Accuracy, Complete and Timely (ACT) information: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation -Mine data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle) using SQL and log files by writing scripts (ex. PERL, Python, UNIX) -Build solutions to have maximum scale and self-service ability for stakeholders -Own the design and development of metrics, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions -Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders that will help shape effective metric development and reporting -Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of BI solutions for complex and ambiguous problems -Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to key stakeholders -Simplify and automate reporting, audits and other data-driven activities -Partner with our Data Engineering team to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights -Learn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovation -Partner with Engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights -To develop and drive best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation -Learn new technology and techniques to meaningfully support product and process innovation A day in the life In this role, you will transform complex data into actionable insights. Basic Qualifications - 7+ years of SQL experience - Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills. - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs - Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling - Experience with AWS technologies - Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets - Experience with operations/supply chain - Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
