The Senior Budget/Contract Specialist at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s (LKSOM) Clinical Research Administration will report to the Director of Industry Contracts/Budgets.  The candidate will be responsible for pre-award negotiations of industry confidential disclosure agreement/non-disclosure agreements, budgets and contracts for their assigned department.  This position will assist with building clinical trial calendars within the clinical trial management system, OnCore.  They will service the Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators of their assigned departments ensuring the studies are completed in a timely manner. The incumbent will work with but not limited to Industry sponsors, Principal Investigators, Research staff, University Counsel, Risk Management, Compliance Office, LKSOM OnCore Team, Temple University Hospital Pharmacy, Temple University Legal Counsel, TUHS Legal Counsel. 

Responsibilities include\:

Review, negotiate and execute industry confidential disclosure agreements/non-disclosure agreements. Review, negotiate and execute Industry budgets and contracts, amendments, Letter of Indemnifications, and other legal documents required for the research studies. Communicate with all appropriate parties the status of where the study budgets and contracts, or associated documents are in the process. Record dates as the documents progress up to obtaining signatures. Work with but not limited to Industry Sponsors, Principal Investigators, Research Staff, University Counsel, Risk Management, LKSOM OnCore Team, Temple University Hospital Pharmacy.   Build Clinical Trial calendars within the Clinical Trial Management System, OnCore. Meet timelines for completion of study documents. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience\:
Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in sponsored research or related field. An equivalent combination of education and or experience may be considered. 

Required Skills & Abilities\:
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs, including MS Word and advanced MS Excel functions.  
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population. 
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment. 
*Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and process large amounts of information. 

Preferred\:  
*Budgeting and Contracting experience within a higher education or hospital setting 
*Building Clinical Trial Calendars and Budgets in a Clinical Trial Management System, OnCore preferred. 

This position requires a background check for cash handling and/or PII access.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
