Sr Cardiac Sonographer
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Medical Imaging Ultrasound/Echo, the Cardiac Sonographer Sr will be expected to provide the highest quality echo imaging care to our patients and referring services. This position works collaboratively with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and to triage routine and emergent procedures. The Cardiac Sonographer Sr will mentor the technical and support staff assigned to include coordination of echo imaging and procedural education and training. Assists medical imaging management in the daily operations of the departments by working closely with patients, medical staff, and other internal teams. Performs patient care. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software packages. Responsible for supplies on hand for procedures while keeping supply costs as close to budget as possible.

Hourly Pay Rate: $39.96 - $58.94

Qualifications
Education: Requires an associate degree in Cardiac Sonography or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience: Requires a minimum of two (2) years of broad-based experience in Echocardiography that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Specialized training: Noninvasive cardiac sonography to include stress echo and transesophageal echocardiography. Pediatric Echocardiography is preferred.
Certification / Licensure: Licensed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in one of the following: Registered Cardiac Sonography (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonography (ACS), or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required.   Requires BLS through an approved American Heart Association (AHA). A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training will be required within 3 months. Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.   Knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures.  Requires the ability to be a creative, independent thinker, managing self, time, and resources.  Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, customer service, and enthusiasm.  Proficient in computer systems, and knowledge of medical imaging information systems including PACS, and EPIC.   Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
