Job Posting Overview Position Overview: The Senior Category Analyst will have the ability to generate data-driven insights to grow our client brands and will analytically be curious, creative and organized, mentor teammates, and are confident in presenting ideas solutions to both internal teams, as well as external clients and retailers. The ideal candidate is an expert “story teller” who understands our clients objectives, retailer processes, and knows what data is available in order to come up with compelling, actionable insights and solutions for client brands. The Senior Category Analyst will be responsible for providing actionable analysis using syndicated (Nielsen. IRI), shopper and retailer POS and loyalty card data, among others. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties below represent the essential responsibilities. Utilize a broad range of data metrics, tools, and analytics to identify opportunities and deliver insights to our customers and clients Strategically leverage analytical insights to further growth of category & identify merchandising growth opportunities: Analysis of syndicated POS data and shopper/consumer behaviors, leveraging of macro- economic, consumer, and retail insights in order to come up with compelling implications and recommendations. Identify, measure, and quantify our client brands and competitors’ trends and opportunities Leverage proprietary analytical tools and processes to drive actionable insights Create and maintain weekly/monthly reporting vehicles Mentor and/or manage and develop analyst team members in Category Management thought process High level of collaboration with CROSSMARK sales counterparts in developing and executing client strategy at retail High level of engagement with customers and clients to understand strategies and objectives Deeply involved in the planning process, working with CROSSMARK sales and clients Full knowledge Category Management practices on shelf management analytics, uncovering distribution opportunities and pricing and promotion evaluation Creates insight driven presentations with actionable tactics and strategies Develop creative presentations with an eye toward storytelling, focused on flow, visualizations and meaningful headlines Prioritize tasks with a focus on strategic versus tactical activities that deliver stronger ROI Qualifications Education / Experience / Skills: Bachelors Degree required or 2-4 years equivalent relevant job-related experience in CPG Sales, Marketing and/or Category Management. A minimum of two (2) years of CPG experience Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to translate insights into action and broad trends to specific implications for client ; retailer partners Able to teach, train and mentor team members on Category Management thinking; processes Be collaborative and able to effectively communicate and work with other organizational functions and levels Ability to identify highest value at stake projects, and prioritize and manage projects accordingly Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to SPIRIT values of Service, Pride Integrity, Results, Innovation and Teamwork Computer Skills/Tools ; Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), PowerBI knowledge experience is a plus, knowledge of Space Management software (Blue Yonder, SymphonyRetail, Spaceman), or the aptitude to learn. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to be able to: sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and/or other peripherals. Light to moderate lifting may be required from time-to-time up to 60 lbs. Work Environment: Work is primarily sedentary. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use a keyboard and mouse, frequently. Occasional travel via plane and automobile may be required, including overnight stays (up to 10%). Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished (in written, oral, or diagram form) and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
