We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

The Sr. CX Research and Design Specialist will research, investigate, prototype, test, and ideate and design customer’s interactions with Dominion Energy across various channels. They will make recommendations aligned with business and customer outcomes and partner with several teams including Customer Experience Strategy, Data Insights, and Technology to enhance customer journeys.


Key Responsibilities

Research and understand customer needs and behaviors by collecting and analyzing data to inform product and service designs that create positive customer experiences. Partner with stakeholders on the design and execution of enhancements across customer touchpoints, aligned with business goals and customer needs. Proactively identify potential usability issues, create/execute usability tests, and recommend ideal solutions. Communicate recommended design concepts to stakeholders in visually compelling ways using research, insights, and data. Monitor the impact of design solutions on customer journeys, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions. Champion and advocate for change in customer experience approaches, methods, and understanding enterprise wide.
 

 

The ideal candidate has a human-centered lens and is naturally curious always asking ‘why’. They are keen to uncover what drives human action and behavior and are able to help design interactions that are intuitive and effortless. They are well-versed in human-centered research methods, customer journey mapping, experience design, interface, and interaction design.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5-8 years of experience in experience design, experience research, interaction design, interface design, project management, or related roles.

Human-Centered Research methods (digital and non-digital) and tools e.g. A/B testing, user interviews, ethnography studies. Experience design tools and methods e.g. journey mapping.  Lead design projects including proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies. Proficient with Standard Design tools (ie Figma (preferred) or similar prototyping tools.  Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Photoshop and InDesign, a plus. Familiarity with Journey Mapping Tools (Miro, Hot Jar, etc.), a plus.  Ability to facilitate cross-functional workshops to drive shared outcomes. Analytical, able to interpret user data and provide actionable insights.  Able to be creative in deriving an insight and effectively conveying experience designs. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in design functions. Engage stakeholders at all levels to influence and build consensus. Degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:  
Bachelor’s

Preferred Discipline(s): Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field.
