The Data Analytics team is a critical component of At Home’s Strategy Office. This team is responsible for driving data driven business decisions across the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analytics, this role is responsible for creating analytical tools to drive evidence-based decision making across all functions in the Company, as well as regular data analysis and reporting.

Key Roles and Responsibilities Creation of data analysis tools to uncover business issues and support strategic initiatives Building efficient models using internal and external sources to help stakeholders make data-driven business decisions and identify actions to rectify business problems Provide research & analysis support for competitive insights and macro-economic factors Work with Business Intelligence team to automate approved data analytic models for regular reporting Deliver accurate and on-time reporting on KPIs Continually evaluate business and recommend analyses to highlight areas of opportunity that will improve company performance Prepare presentation documents and assist in presenting findings to cross-functional team members

 

Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree required in Business / Finance / Economics / Mathematics / Statistics, preferably with high GPA score 3+ year experience as an inventory analyst / data scientist / strategy analyst / data analyst or equivalent educational experience such as a master’s degree + at least 1 year work experience Experience in retail, restaurant, consulting, financial services or investment banking a plus Knowledge/Experience  Required –  Advanced Excel (e.g. Pivot tables, advanced Excel formulas, Power Pivot & Power Query) | SQL Programming | Power BI R / Python a plus Statistical concepts and analyses (descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive) Values  Curious | Positive attitude | Active listener |Excited to learn independently Highly values accurate and on-time preparation of analysis  Continuous Process improvement in existing data models & reports Self-motivated with an intense intellectual curiosity, creativity, and critical attention to detail and deadlines Honest, hard-working, committed to self-improvement Amenable to group discussions | Thrives in team-work environment Skills  Data modeling in Power BI/Power Pivot – required SQL programming – Intermediate Proficiency in statistical packages of Python a plus Knowledge / experience in using Alteryx & APT a plus Building user friendly models, that are adaptable and robust enough to become legacy tools Solid Communication skills – verbal and written; and bold yet humble
