The properties team at Target helps create, build, and maintain a joyful physical experience for consumers, teams, and communities. Within Properties, the Property management team strategically manages Target Properties to deliver a superior store environment for our guests and TMs through an innovative, thoughtful, and financially disciplined approach to property management on Value, Reliability and Brand.The Data & Insights team’s mission is to harness the power of data to inform critical decisions that enable reliable and on-brand guest experience at every Target location. Our Sr Data Analysts are expected to explore data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques to enable business insights. Data analysts accomplish this through a wide variety of skills including data wrangling, reporting, dashboarding, visualization, statistical analysis, modeling, analytical engineering and the presentation of recommendations and insight. Analysts will work within an agile environment, which requires active participation in ceremonies to accomplish the team’s goals. They also develop domain knowledge as they learn about their business area and support applying key data management principles like metadata management, data profiling, and documenting their data lineage.Actively exploring data for specific use casesExpertise in business domain and processesCreating measurable insights from the data to be sharedDocumenting calculations, code, and adhering to data management principlesValidating and testing data assets of others in the form of peer reviewExploring statistical analysis that could be applied to the dataPerforming descriptive statistics including mean, variance, median, correlationApplies insights and testing in partnership with business usersActive participant in team meetingsAbility to work independently to turn business problems into data solutionsWilling and eager to learn business domain and analytical techniques to elevate team performanceSupport data infrastructure activities such as connecting, standardizing and automating various data sourcesSupport team operations such as backlog organization, documentation, education & communication material of data products
Requirement:
Four-year degree with 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst with strong academic performance in a quantitative field; or strong equivalent experience [add any specific analyst experience needed here] Advanced SQL experience writing complex queriesIntermediately accomplished with Python or RSolid problem solving, analytical skills, data curiosity, data mining, Data creation and consolidationSupport conclusions with a clear, understandable story that leverages descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and data visualizationsWillingness to ask questions about business objectives and the measurement needs for a project workstream, and be able to measure objectives & key resultsExcellent communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams, and translate ideas between themKnowledge of AB Testing methods, time series, S&OP planning, Forecasting models including statistical analysisExperience in analytics tools such as: SQL, Excel, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, R, Domo, Adobe Analytics (or Google Analytics) and/or equivalent technologiesUseful Links-
