Sr Data Analyst

Enterprise Data and Analytics is looking for a Sr Data Analyst with a winning track record in designing complex data and analytical solutions that transform, integrate, and meet various functional and data demands from business. 

The Sr Data Analyst will be part of a team that supports the design and build of data products for internal data consumers. In this role, you will liaise with Data Product Owners, Business and Analytics SMEs, and data providers and SMEs across Citizens Financial Group to identify and document data requirements, and partner with Data Engineering, Data Governance and Data Quality teams to implement and maintain data products consisting of database objects, reports and APIs in a consistent, scalable manner.

Primary responsibilities include:

Actively participate in all stages of the Data Product lifecycle. Gather data requirements, analyze data sources and perform data mapping, data quality and gap analysis.Design consumption-ready data objects and prepare source to target mapping documents and functional specifications for data and BI engineers to build ETL jobs, APIs and reports as part of the Data Product lifecycle. Execute unit tests, validate expected results, and ensure data quality and accuracy. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing and code deployment /configuration changes to upper environments.Follow change management stipulations for production implementation and strictly adhere to the compliance and regulatory requirements.Innovate by leveraging agile techniques to achieve efficiency, improve processes and continuously boost productivity. Assist the Data Product Owners and the Data Quality team with requirement gathering and implementation of Data Quality controls. Collaborate with the Data Governance team to register the data product business and technical metadata in the enterprise metadata repository. Create data lineage maps and data transfer control requirements documentation and assist the data engineers with data transfer control implementation and testing.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather all necessary details for documenting the Data Product Charters, User Guides, SLAs and to publish the data products in the enterprise Data Marketplace. Monitor data product performance and usage and recommend functional design and data quality improvements.Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the Data Product frameworks and standards and update relevant content in the Data Product Operations Manual.

Required Skills/Experience:

3 or more years of experience as a data analyst/engineer with responsibility for complex data solutions implementation3 or more years of experience in data profiling,  data validation, data sourcing and integration, root cause analysis and fixing data quality issuesStrong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracyAbility to communicate well both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organizationStrong analytical skillsSolid understanding of data management, data sources, data organization and storageKnowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques Advanced knowledge of SQL and 3+ years of writing complex queries across various data sources including AWS S3, Redshift, Postgres, SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.Strong experience with complex financial or risk management business rule analysis and implementationUsing tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphsExperience with AWS cloud native services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Sagemaker, etc.Basic understanding of ETL/ELT tools such as Talend, Datastage, Informatica, and Sqoop.Experience with Agile development

Education, Certifications, and/or Other Professional Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Technology, or related field, and 3+ years of related work experienceBanking experience preferred

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM
