About the role
Sr Director, Project Management
The Sr Director Project Management is responsible for managing and/or providing Governance for all complex Capital Expenditure (CapEx) project portfolio across Reworld.
The scope includes but not limited to
1) All Complex Waste to Energy CapEx projects
2) Complex/large Environmental Solution expansion projects
3) All IT CapEx projects
4) All Complex Metals projects
5) Greenfield expansion project.
The Project Management Sr Director leads a team of project managers, controller and scheduler, and is responsible for development of companywide PMO structure, project execution strategies, schedules and estimates. The Project Management Sr Director establishes accountability with the Project teams to ensure that each phase of a project proceeds as planned, within budget and meets project commitments.
Responsibilities:
Defines and develops project/program management best practices, processes, and policy to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals. Defines and consults on measurement strategies, tools, scorecards, and surveys across organization.
Ensures that effective project management governance, procedures, tools and financial controls are established and maintained
Builds the skills of the project management organization to include strong program and project governance and delivery skills.
Leads initiatives to partner with internal teams to plan, scope, and manage for highest quality internal or External client experience and results.
Monitor all project processes and operations for time and resource efficiencies, cost management, and process improvement opportunities.
Ensures that approved policies and established objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied in the Complex project portfolio.
Reviews and appraises performance of subordinate project managers. Ensures that the organizational structure of PMO is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed
Builds strong working relationships across organizations and geographies.
Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
Strong financial background
10+ years of related experience, with 7 years minimum of leadership experience within a large, global and technical organization.
10 year experience in leading teams and managing projects in power or infrastructure
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Basic Lean/Six sigma knowledge
· Ability to read design drawings.
· Ability to work in a cross functional business environment
· Ability to influence key stakeholders
· Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to be effective in all forms of communication.
· Certifications {if applicable): PMP license preferable
