Sr Director, Enterprise ASC Marketing

You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world. **A Day in the Life** The Sr Director, Enterprise ASC Marketing is accountable for articulating an enterprise marketing strategy for alternate sites of care, designing and launching an ASC brand for Medtronic, establishing the foundational marketing elements (upstream and downstream) to ensure our Enterprise ASC sales/contracting, OU Marketing, and OU sales teams are successful, and supporting ongoing marketing needs of the organization for this market segment. The ultimate goal of this newly-created role is to contribute to Medtronic’s overall success by growing sales in this market segment across the enterprise. **Core Duties & Responsibilities (others may be assigned):** + Partner closely with Enterprise ASC & CTx leadership, Portfolio Strategy Leaders, OU Strategy Leads and OU Marketing/Sales Leaders to understand and identify the unmet needs and/or opportunities in the marketplace. Articulate and maintain a clear strategy for advancing Medtronic’s interests in alternate sites of care (i.e. ASC/OBL) across relevant therapeutic areas. + Accountable for defining and launching an enterprise ASC brand, in coordination with Enterprise Marketing/Communications, customizable for each of the Portfolio’s unique needs and differentiate Medtronic relative to our competitors. + Establish an approach for monitoring industry trends and competitive activity in different sites of care (i.e. ASC, HOPD, and OBL) and across different specialty/ownership structures to meet each customer with the right solution at the right time. + Develop, maintain, and publish regular KPI dashboards measuring Medtronic’s progress relative to other competitors on a quarterly basis. + Ensure a strong connection between OUs/Portfolios and the Enterprise team; maintain communication on product needs/solutions that will advance Medtronic’s overall position in the market and work to achieve inter-organizational alignment with respect to meeting customer needs. + Work closely with the Enterprise contracting & pricing teams, CTx leaders, OUPs & OU CFOs and Enterprise ASC leaders to articulate a plan for streamlining multi-OU/cross-portfolio contracting that allows Medtronic to move with speed in the ASC/OBL segment. + In partnership with current and new partners (i.e. Steris, GE, Corazon, etc.), develop marketing tactics and programs which enable Medtronic to win with customers in the marketplace. Includes managing and stewarding alliances with external partners to ensure maximum benefit for Medtronic. + Drive the development and execution of foundational marketing support material/resources including (but not limited to) the creation of messaging/positioning for different customer segments (physician-owned, corporate, IDN, etc.), associated marketing collateral, targeted web and/or social media campaigns, updating and maintaining ASC branding on the Medtronic corporate website, educational events and/or booth properties at relevant industry events (i.e. Beckers ASC conference, etc.), and exploration for how Medtronic may engage in patient/DTC campaigns. + Support enterprise and OU field sales teams with necessary business planning and/or marketing tools that create flawless sales execution including customer-facing models that articulate the Medtronic value proposition, provide benchmarking, sales transaction modeling, and development of case studies where successful MDT partnerships have resulted in delighted customers (to be leveraged in marketing collateral, trade shows, and/or social media campaigns). + Research best available datasets to determine trends, market opportunities, market share and average sales prices across the alternate site space. Determine how to validate the data derived from forecasting, claims and spend datasets and where to invest capital resources for optimal understanding in the market. + Serve as de facto in-house expert on alternate sites of care, typical business models, interaction with payers and governmental bodies, needs and challenges. + Develop an annual marketing plan that supports the overarching ASC/OBL enterprise strategy; plan and manage annual budget. + Effectively manages a Principal Product Specialist to achieve the desired goals of the organization while also cultivating career growth and development + Lead and coordinate product/solution launches, market research and other activities necessary to support the segment. + Analyze and present quarterly/bi-annual business reviews to senior leadership to articulate progress against stated goals. + Provide strategic planning and execution for global congresses, NSM, advisory board meetings, and trade shows as warranted. + Cultivate Key Opinion Leaders as needed to help advance market knowledge as well as refine programs, products, and/or solutions ultimately leading to an alternate site advisory board. + Travel domestically (up to 30% of the time) in support of customer engagements, internal Medtronic activities, and cultivating external vendor partners. **Team Leadership:** + Lead and develop a team of product/marketing specialists. Motivates team and creates positive environment for success. + Build team to support growth; maintain a strong bench of talent. Oversees professional development and growth of team members. + Lead planning, communications, sequencing and execution of marketing activities. **Minimum Qualifications** + Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in medical device, pharma or healthcare industry with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience. + Experience cultivating marketing programs, developing new brands, and fostering strong third-party strategic alliances. + Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives; very strong diplomacy and cross-functional leadership skills. + Comfort with ambiguity; an entrepreneurial mindset that is comfortable bringing structure where none exists. + High degree of initiative; self-directed. + Ability to travel 25-30% of the time. **Preferred Qualifications** + MBA or other relevant advanced degree. + Strong preference for a mix of brand and product management experience across both inpatient and outpatient settings. + Strong multi-disciplinary skills in business and financial analytics, modeling, strategic planning, marketing, marketing research, public speaking, influencing, and negotiation. + Exemplary leadership capabilities with an emphasis on talent/team development. PR) locations (USD):$212,800.00 - $319,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
