Responsibilities Digital Products and Applications at PepsiCo The Digital Evolution is critical to driving PepsiCo’s ambitions around being FASTER, STRONGER, and BETTER. The Digital Products & Applications team designs, builds, and stands up digital solutions across the value chain, that are embedded into business processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high ROI. Guided by PEPSICO’s global priorities, the Digital Products & Applications team create user-centric digital products that can be scaled globally by leveraging the leading technologies, advanced analytics algorithms and latest user research. Senior Director of Software Engineering The Senior Director of Software Engineering will play a pivotal role in Global software development activities and long-term initiative planning and collaboration across the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) organization. Software Engineering is the cornerstone of scalable digital transformation across PepsiCo’s value chain. This leader will deliver the end-to-end software development experience, deliver high quality software as part of the DevOps process, and have accountability for our business operations. The leader in this role will provide technical oversight and direction to our software development team to ensure we deliver the best possible software solutions and ensure they are generating value through cost savings or incremental value. This leader will work closely with the user experience, product, IT, and process engineering teams to develop new products and prioritize delivering solutions across S&T core priorities. Role Responsibilities: Create the vision and guide a team of engineers to build and support digital products and applications (DPA) across S&T core priorities. Develop software development strategy utilizing industry standards. Create roadmap and timing of implementation of the roadmap based on business requirements and strategy. Lead multi-discipline, high-performance work teams distributed across remote locations effectively. Build, manage, develop, and mentor a team of engineers. Be the senior leader for S&T Globally to build the organization and grow it to ensure the highest levels of engineering, TPM, Data and Analytics team and responsible cross functional performance and employee engagement Successfully develop and execute S&T strategy and operational plans in close collaboration with global and cross-functional teams Foster executive and senior-level client relationships with new and existing leaders and employees and partners Build, develop and retain a high performing team through use of talent management best practices, data, and operational rigor Drive relationships with Pepsico internal and external stakeholders including other geographic representatives Develop and expand DPA capabilities through a customer obsessed, services-driven digital solutions platform that leverages data and AI to deliver automated and personalized experiences. Manage and appropriately escalate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the engineering initiatives to the stakeholders Maintain and protect Pepsico core values by hiring culturally aligned and diverse team members and leading by example Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $165,000 - $335,000. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 35% of annual salary paid out annually. and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering preferred Minimum of 15+ years in leading world class engineering teams at global scale Past experience in building engineering teams from scratch Past experience in starting or co-leading a Global Dev Center for a top tier tech company Experience managing demonstrated ability to coach and mentor a team Experience with Azure/Google Cloud/Amazon Web Services and cloud specific PaaS and SaaS solutions Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems Experience with high throughput cloud native distributed systems Experience implementing and consuming large-scale web services Qualities Driving success across a matrixed organization, creating leverage, and driving partnership with a broad set of internal business partners and stakeholders Significant experience in managing on a day-to-day basis an engineering organization A track record of building and developing organizations at scale Relentless focus on technology, development, and Innovation Attracting, retaining, and developing high performing, high potential talent through assessing, selecting, onboarding, coaching, developing and retention initiatives Possesses a competitive, optimistic, and strong work ethic with humility and energy to lead others Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as leadership presence in the broadest definition of that term Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit, be innately equipped to work through change, and have enthusiasm for company culture and values Working knowledge of programming languages beyond C#, Java, C or C++ (e.g., Ruby, Python, Perl) EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
