Sr Embedded Software Engineer
Job Title: Sr Software EngineerJob Description We are seeking an experienced Sr Software Engineer who has comprehensive knowledge and experience working on the entire embedded software system. This role involves developing and integrating all components of the software, from low-level drivers to high-level application features. The ideal candidate should be versatile and capable of handling the full scope of software development, demonstrating depth in their experience. Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific examples and methodologies used in their previous roles, including the tools they utilized and how they applied them in their projects. Responsibilities + Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype, and validate product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements. + Maintain regular contact with the team and systems integration engineering on technical issues. + Actively participate in program core teams with proactive presentation of defined engineering deliverables defined in the APD portion of the C2P process. + Develop engineered product solutions to meet customer needs by creatively using core part designs and technologies, ensuring compliance with MISRA and other regulatory standards. + Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods/standards, design and program details, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions. + Ensure products are reviewed for best practice from a Design for Excellence (DFX) perspective, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Reliability (DFR), and Design for Ergonomics (DFE) to ensure design delivery to product targets. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering. + Full systems software engineering experience that develops full system and some components. + 5+ years of experience working with project launch cycles for automotive. + 5+ years of experience in C programming, model-based design, architectural design, engineering calculations, and analysis. + Knowledge of automotive APQP terms. + Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills. + Experience coding with LIN, CAN, and UDS diagnostics. + Familiarity with coding rules in C language for automotive applications. + Familiarity with software build, release process and integration, validation process, and tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with AUTOSAR software architecture and related tools. + Knowledge of ASPICE and ISO standards is an asset. Work Environment The work environment involves working with advanced technologies and equipment. The role demands adherence to project timelines and quality standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively within a team setting and maintain regular communication on technical issues. The dress code is business casual. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $137000.00/yr. Small familial atmosphere - the team all work together to get projects done on time for their OEM customers. There is a small bonus structure based on company performance that direct employees are entitled to as well. Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Southfield,MI.
