Job Title:

Senior Engineer – Software Verification & Validation

Company Profile:

Baxter has long been on the forefront of developing innovative solutions for patients with kidney disease.  This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development and support of Baxter’s Cloud based software that is related to our connected medicine strategy.  The Cloud based software will support connectivity of medical devices (Internet-of-Things “IoT”) and mobile devices in the home and in clinics.  The Cloud based software will support management of medical treatments at home/clinics and also enable management of the supply chain related to various medical treatments.  The Cloud based software will also have an analytics component that will enable improved clinical outcomes and enable Baxter to develop better strategy based on deep insights.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for test case design, test execution, test data preparation, test automation and defect reporting to ensure coverage and qualityExecute the suite of functional and regression test cases on multiple application platforms like web, mobile and desktopContribute to test framework development and software tool validation initiativesContribute actively to development of testing tools/utilities on need basisInteract with cross-functional team members to develop and refine test strategy and effort estimationAdherence to committed milestones and agreed scope of builds/releases by completing the assigned activities as planned, proactively highlighting dependencies & risks for assigned activitiesEnsure complete test coverage of SW changes/scopeDrive reviews with quality team and ensure closure of all comments/gaps/non-compliancesReview test artifacts and drive improvements in V&V efficiency across workstreamsCommunicate test results and defect reports to stakeholders periodicallyAssist in the documentation of traceability from requirements to verification records and from requirements to design entitiesAdhere to agreed agile/scrum practices, deliverables and ceremonies and usage of JIRA on a daily basisConduct trainings and provide assistance to junior test engineers as neededDeal well with ambiguous/undefined problems and possess the ability to think abstractly

Qualifications:

6-10 years of experience in software testing with minimum of 4 years into test automationProficient in testing methodologies, processes, tools and techniquesSolid programming skillsHands-on experience in building test automation using Selenium with Python/Java/RubyHands-on experience in API/web services testing and use of automation frameworks like RESTAssuredPossess superior debugging skills to discover causes of test failures and environment issuesA deep understanding of multiple forms of software testing throughout the entire SDLCGood understanding of TDD/BDD methodologiesSound knowledge of enterprise software automation frameworksExperience in testing cloud-based applications (PaaS/SaaS/IaaS)Strong in database concepts -> Queries, joins, stored proceduresWell versed with healthcare processes and best practicesSound in technical documentationFamiliarity with Git, Maven, Ant and Linux OSExperience working in agile model and good knowledge of JIRAStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsQuick learner and self-starter, able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervisionExcellent verbal and written communication skills

Background/Experience:  Bachelors in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or a related specialization with 6-10 years of related work experience

Desired Skills:

ISTQB CertificationExperience in verification for renal care/dialysis productsHands-on software application development experienceKnowledge of medical device software development including knowledge of standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485
